Just 1 Way Will Save Me Thousands of Dollars! Reviewed in the United States on May 23, 2023 Gerry's book has true nuggets of gold- valuable wisdom I can't wait to deploy. For example, Way #10 is 'Carpe Diem- Make the First Move to Control the Negotiation.' There he offers a brilliant way to state a firm rate to clients while still giving yourself flexibility to make concessions if you get pushback. The idea: quote an hourly rate and then, if the client resists, note the rate is for just one hour and that a daily or weekly rate will produce a lower hourly rate. Brilliant! I've taught negotiation for years and Gerry taught me something that will likely save me thousands of dollars. The book is so pithy and digestible that you can pick up gems like that in literally just a few minutes. My praise to Gerry for enriching us all.

Fantastic negotiating advice for any facet of life Reviewed in the United States on October 26, 2022 I had the pleasure of being personally mentored by the author, Mr. Gerry Parran, when I was entry level in my career. Reading this book solidifies many of his values and the amazing tactics he taught me early on about “networlding.” Always consider the other person and what value you can bring to the table for the “win-win” when you can. Thank you Gerry, for your mentorship, and this book was GREAT!!! I have highlighted and bookmarked many points in it that I’m certain I’ll be referring back to throughout the rest of my career.

Successful book of negotiating! Reviewed in the United States on November 26, 2022 This is a very easy-to-read book focused on negotiating. I enjoyed the applications the most! The personal experiences, that makes the topic (chapter) relevant. I also liked the useful tips in everyday life, the book wasn’t just focused on business and negotiating through work. Every reader can gain a piece of knowledge from this well researched book.

Hits the High Points of Negotiation AND Bonus Section is Worth 10x the Price of the Book Reviewed in the United States on October 24, 2022 Great gem on explaining negotiation. Love the advice on watching out for the Salami Slicing Strategy. Have only heard it explained as nibbling which Parran calls "niggling" and explains it's difference. We agree on his advice on having a clear intention, being polite, and ideas regarding first offers. According to the research I conducted for my book, Ask Outrageously: The Secret to Getting What You Really Want, one-third of people will turn down your request if you aren't considerate/polite. Fast read packed full of information. Highly recommend.
